The Right Rev. Marc Andrus, Bishop
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Marc Handley Andrus is the eighth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of California. He was installed as bishop in 2006 — a position of oversight for a diocese comprised of 21,000 communicants in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo Counties, and the cities of Los Altos and part of Palo Alto. Prior to his election as Bishop of California, Andrus served as Bishop Suffragan in the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama. |
The Rev. David Grant Smith, Vicar
David is proud to be serving as Vicar at SEA Episcopal Church in the cities of South San Francisco and San Bruno and is pleased to be part of the Episcopal Diocese of California. David is nearing the completion of his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree at Claremont School of Theology (CST), focusing his studies on process theology as a resource for parish ministry and pastoral care. His project and the topic for his thesis will be about combining process theology with Internal Family Systems counseling as a path to emotional and spiritual self-care. David is trained as an Internal Family Systems (IFS) counselor and is in the process of working toward certification as an IFS Practitioner. He has served as a priest in parish ministry as well as in hospital chaplaincy. Prior to ordination, David worked for many years as a lay professional, serving several churches as lay pastoral associate, choir director, organist, minister of music, or in some combination of those things. In addition to his vocational pursuits, David enjoys travel, singing, chamber music, writing, tea, wine, spoiling his nephews and nieces, and spending quality time with family and friends. |
Staff
Margaret Burke, Music Director and Organist
Margie began her relationship with SEA Church as the Organist for St. Elizabeth's Church, prior to our merging. Since coming together, she has been working valiantly to select and prepare all the music for our 10:15 a.m. Sunday Eucharist. She also does quite a bit of arranging of music, as needed for the resources of our Church. And from time to time, Margie collaborates with other musicians to provide special music for big days like Christmas and Easter. |
Samantha "Sam" Tolosa, Administrative Assistant
Sam became our Administrative Assistant in December 2023. She brings to this ministry many years of experience in the medical field, and excels in managing offices and maintaining confidentiality. Sam enjoys interacting with people from different cultures and backgrounds, and she embraces SEA Church's values of diversity and inclusion. |
Jeanne McLaughlin, St. Andrew’s Preschool Director
Jeanne has been the director of Saint Andrew's Preschool since July of 2006. She has been working in the field of early childhood education and development since 1981. Jeanne loves working with children and creating partnerships with our Saint Andrew's Preschool families. |
